Journal Club
Format will stay the same as last Spring.
This will include:
- presentations by one person, continuing to include lots of background
- the same paper rules: picked one month ahead of time with a faculty mentor and sent out one week early via Erin [etrail(at)bu(dot)edu]
- presenter should include discussion questions and/or a summary paragraph to be sent out with the paper to encourage people to focus their thoughts
- this spiffy little blog to foster discussion and let people ask their (dumb) questions before the actual gathering
RIP
These will change a little bit.
- either one or two people will present their current data
- the presenter should be interested in the advice/feedback of the audience
examples include: graduate students trying to figure out what data to put in a paper, postdocs looking to figure out how to go about solving a newly-identified project and, most importantly, anyone needing advice on how to interprete data or troubleshoot a protocol. - the presentation should take up less than half of the scheduled time to allow for plenty of discussion
